Thank you for honking your horn, but that does not mean I will get out of the way for you to pass me when we are both looking to make a left hand turn. And it doesn't mean you have the right thread between me & the island so you can pass me and make the left hand turn 2 seconds sooner than if you wait your turn behind me.
I apologize for not awarding you a free water bottle for making the 'mov...e of the day' but I'm sure you wouldn't have appreciated it landing on your roof or hood as I threw it at you; if your sunroof was open, I would have done my best to have it delivered through it.
Shame on me for not being a little more assertive and positioning myself more into the middle of the lane so you would think more than twice about trying to pass me in such an unsafe & unlawful manner (...maintain a safe and prudent distance...). I will do better next time.
