Upon arriving at work and changing into my work clothes, my MP3 player went silent from a dead battery. No problem, when I get to my desk and settle in to start working I can plug it in to recharge. After a couple hours of working away, I unplugged the MP3 player and put it away in order to relocate my laptop into a conference room and use it to drive an online training session several of my coworkers & I were to experience.

At the end of the day, as I changed for the ride home (actually to the bowling alley), I turned on the MP3 player and inserted the earbud into my right ear and headed out to load up my bike. Before reaching my bike, the radio station was giving a traffic report and mentioned that I-70 by the airport was closed in both directions and said something about Cypress Rd traffic - a street in the vacinity of the airport - my route this evening was going to take my on Cypress Rd to Natural Bridge Rd, right there by there airport. Something about a suspicious box or something, then the MP3 player died. I guess it didn't get fully charged in the short time I had it plugged in this morning, so it was going to be a 'quiet' ride and I may be in for a detour.

The incident was cleared up by time I got to the intersection, although the traffic on I-70 was still fairly heavy as I went under the overpass.

When I was leaving work, I knew I had some extra time than tnis commute would normally require, so I was thinking of putting in a couple extra miles to enjoy the evening's mild weather. Then as I made it through the airport area, I thought I could do my extra miles by jaunting over to The Touring Cyclist, a local bike shop, and do some further investigating about converting the brakes on the Supreme to disc. Made it there, didn't get the answer I was hoping for in the conversion process (that is the frame is not exactly ready have disc brakes), but the door is not completely shut on the idea yet either. A couple more details/possibilites need followup.
