Terrain: Road: Rolling Bike: Giant OCR 3 Road
Weather Conditions: Mostly cloudy, sun peeked out occasionally, absolutely relentless wind. Temp probably mid 70's and it must be pretty humid, because I felt every one of those 70 degrees. Did I mention the wind???????
Ride Description: Failed very adventurous metric. Headed out towards the National Palace, changed my mind and then headed toward Tanshui. I was in the scooter lane cruising at 21 mph when the racer boys passed me. At least not like I was standing still. I had planned on going to the coast, but made a wrong turn and ended up going across the red bridge into Bali. Since I knew where I was (at that time) I just kept on rolling. Ended up on the road a lot, and a brand new (to me) bike path. It ended, so I followed some bikers out to the (holy crap, BUSY road) and turned back around when they stopped and could tell me the road was heading to Inge. Cool, but not today. Turned around, stayed on the road a lot, bike path part of the way, back on the road at Dadaocheng and just stayed there. Crazy busy traffic today. Oh, at one point, I was going over a bridge in the scooter lane, which merged into another scooter lane, and narrowly avoided what could have been a nasty crash when my tires got caught in the gap between 45° angle steel plates. Quick reflexes and decent speed had me out of harm's way quickly. I got really tired of being beat up by the wind and traffic, so I decided just to come home once I knew exactly where I was. Good thing, too, because I pushed myself enough I semi-hyperventilated when I got home. Ahhh, pickle juice to the rescue.
