| Weather Conditions: Started out a bit chilly, but has warmed up nicely, about 70°. Overcast to begin with, now there are a few bits of blue sky. Was there wind, you ask? Is this Taiwan? I had a smidgen of a tailwind, but much more cross and head winds. Enough wind so that I had to fight it the last 10 miles home. |
| Ride Description: Fourth metric for the year. And my first fall since... I can't remember when. First I checked out the bike path across from the Grand...not open, but there is progress. Next I went to the end of Jingfu bike path and back. Then I went to Guandu and a bit past, then racked up a few miles on the red bike path. Still short of 62, so I just rode around a bit more. The fall happened way past Dadaocheng, where there is some work being done on the path. I wasn't going particularly fast, but I made a sharp turn where there wasn't much room, and my tire veered off the chip seal into a nice rut, could do nothing but fall. Glad it was chilly out because I had on a long sleeve jersey, so didn't get much road rash. There is a pretty good bump on my elbow, and a bit of skin taken off, but that's all. (Everything on my left side hurts today...amazing how sore it all is.) My bike needs the left brake hood adjusted, but that's no problem. |
