I took off this morning and left home riding toward the trail. I read in the paper that the Cancer Survivors' portion of the trail was now opened (that bridge and section have been closed since last fall or summer), so I headed past the F-86 and down toward it. The new bridge is much nicer although the ratty old bridge is still in place. The path around that section is very awkward and not finished. I hope that the straighten out the awkwardness of the trail when they finish it. The cancer survivors' building is there but incomplete. But the section by the trail is finished to where the trail can be opened again.
I rode on up the trail to the Cafe where I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and a kale/cheddar scone with a bottle of Naked Juice strawberry/banana. I also drank a couple of glasses of water. I wrapped up about 1/3 of the sandwich and bought a strawberry scone to take home for Cis. Then I headed up the trail to Furman where I turned back. I rode back down to the Cafe and stopped for another drink of cold water. I headed on down the trail and got off at Hudson Street and rode by TTR. I stopped in to see what Nathaniel has left since he is clearing out the business. I took inventory of what he had and will pass that information on to some friends.
From there I rode by the Peace Center and down Falls Street to Camperdown Way. I cut through the Park up the hill to First Baptist Church and got back on the trail. I ride back through the Park and climbed the big hill across I-385 and cut over to East North Street to go home.
