This morning I drove to Easley to meet with the Alvelo Club to ride the Doodle Trail. I drove to the Easley Trailhead and rode to the Starving Artist for a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll before we started. There were five of us - Andre (the ride leader), Frank, Don, Mary, and me. We rode back to the trail and headed toward Pickens. Andre, Don, and Frank all ride quite a few miles and Mary is a new rider. The trail is 7.6 miles long and a little more up and down than the Swamp Rabbit is. We rode to Pickens and turned back toward Easley. This ride was at a very conversational pace. We rode back to the Starving Artist and the group departed. I rode back to the trail and rode it to Elljean Street and got off to find my niece's home. Hope was at work and Ladd was sleeping (since he works nights) but I stopped and talked to the kids for a minute and got a glass of water. The kids both have bikes but they are both broken down. I only stayed a couple of minutes so that I wouldn't wake Ladd. I would have a little short on miles had I only ridden back to the lot, so I rode on to Pickens once more and returned to Easley to get in my miles. It was a good ride.
