I finally got back on the bike after 3 1/2 weeks off. I met my friend Steve after work to ride up the trail to Dukes for some hotdogs. Steve was there and a new rider Tom. We set a very leisurely pace which was good for me. We rode to the trail and then to TTR so Steve could get a new water bottle. I enjoy the guys at the shop so we had a good time. I told Steve that I wanted to stop at the Cafe to see if they still had peach shortbread while the peaches are still in season. They did and I bought one to eat and one to take home for Cis. We ran into Jonathon P there. He wanted to know where we were riding and I told him to Dukes. He said that he'll stop and try it sometime. We had the shortbread and headed up the trail. After Furman we picked up a young rider. He told me that his mother wouldn't let him ride the trail alone, so he tagged along with us. We stopped at Duke's and Kristy and Katey were hard at work. I had a turkey dog with turkey chili, mustard, relish, and onions with fries and some lemonade. On the way back we stopped outside the Cafe and talked to Oficer Kevin for a while. He is usually pretty wuiet but he was talkative today. Then we rode the rest of the way home. I dropped them on the climb up East North and waited for them at the top of the hill. Tom lost his breath climbing that hill. It was a weak ride but it is good to be back!!!
