| Weather Conditions: Gorgeous temps, started out high 50's, ended up low 80's. Wind. Blue sky and sunny. |
| Ride Description: Did the 50 mile part of the 100th Meridian Ride today. 68 riders went out on the 30, 50, or 100 mile ride. My 50 went from Cozad to the old highway, through Gothenburg, to the Farnam/Eustis road, then past Eustis, and then back to Cozad on highway 21. Hills were great! Wind was there, of course. Great fun. Riders ended up being very wide-spread out so I was pretty much alone. No problem, had the iPod, and of course, Culligan trucks and snack stops were there along the way. And Ryan and Leslie were out taking tons of pictures. The hill just past the cemetery had me cruising down at nearly 34 miles per hour. I'll have to do the reverse sometime...did it once on the road bike about 5 years ago. Should be interesting to go up that hill on the bent. |
