Ride Description: Up the hill past the National Palace Museum to Jianaan. Over that hill, down onto the bike path. Ran into some detours but still go to the end. On the way back, Karen and I crossed to the other side of the river to see if there would be any adventures. Uh, yeah. Construction at one point forced us off the path onto the road, and construction on the road forced us off the bikes to walk through a little detour area. Finally got back onto the street...Karen at one point asked if I had any idea where I was. Of course! We did have lots of traffic to contend with for a bit while on Chung Shan, but when we got across another bridge, we turned onto Chung Cheng, which was much nicer. The hill was good, still not easy for me, and when Karen shifted, her chain came off, so I went back to where she was and got the chain back on. After that, all was fine. Lots of adventure today. Took my old Giant OCR 3 out for the first time in a long time and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I think it will be my bike for tomorrow. |
