Weather Conditions: Started out at a cool 73°, sun was trying to peek out, lots of hunidity. Then, wham bam, a good old Nebraska rainstorm. I was shaking (from adreniline I think) trying to get the mile from Joe and Kristi's house to the house I stopped at. When rain is coming at yuou sideways because of a firece wind, it hurts! The lightning wasn't super close and there wasn't any hail, but we did get about 3/4 of an inch of rain in about half an hour.
Ride Description: Last Nebraska ride for the season...out the old highway, turned around about 7 miles out when I felt the first little raindrops. Rain then started in earnest, lightning, strong winds. Took shelter at a house on Willow Island road and the old highway...guy was home, went inside and called Russ who came out to get me 15 minutes later. What a hoot...all my jerseys were packed so I wore a t-shirt...it was totally drenched! Good experience for my last ride.
