I rode the Surly from home to Cleveland Park then took Cleveland Street into town. I rode out Washington to Hampton Station and took the Orange Line to Old Buncombe Road. I road up Old Buncombe but there was a bad wreck at Velo Valets and Old Buncombe was closed. There were at least 3 fire trucks and several police cars. I could see a vehicle laying on its side with it's nose into a telephone pole. I had to work my way through the neighborhood to get to the other side of the wreck on Old Buncombe. I took it up to the Lakeview spur and followed it to the Green Line. The trail was really packed for an afternoon day. I got off at Furman to put in my long loop there and they had a football game going. I think they were playing Mercer. In Travelers Rest cars and people were everywhere. They had a big Indie Art Festival at Trailblazer Park. I rode to the end then turned back and stopped at the TReeHouse for a cafe au lait and I bought a lemon/cranberry muffin for Cissi. I stopped to talk with Officer Mike just south of TR. I also stopped at the Cafe and there was a group playing giant Jenga in the overflow area. From there I worked my way through the crowd at Falls Park and climbed the big hill home.
