Comments: Skipped yesterday, trying to solve a problem at work. Maddening, because yesterday was really nice. But today was just as nice. Dropped the Saturn off at Winkler's and just wandered -- Washington Grove, Flower Hill, Blunt Rd, Huntmaster, and Rocky Rd. Glorious day.

Comments: Exploring West Watkins Mill Rd. New interchange at 270 is open. Watkins Mill now goes over 270 and all the way to Clopper Rd. There are some new neighborhoods over there that look quite pleasant.

Comments: Daisy Lasso. Perfect day. Great ride till the chain broke. M. came to my rescue. First time on the Rivendell since winter. It's a great bike. Skipped yesterday under threatening skies (though it never did rain). Took the afternoon off today, and planned about 40 miles. Man proposes.

Comments: Washington Grove. Stopped to see Ken. Took a tumble on Hickory Rd in WG. Hit a pothole and my hands slipped off the bars. (I've been trying to rid myself of the bad habit of putting my thumbs over the top, rather than under. Maybe this will help spur me.)

As far as I can tell, I'm not badly hurt -- scraped knee, scraped elbow, and a raspberry on my shoulder, all on the right side. Didn't see the shoulder scrape till I took off my shirt. Shirt seems none the worse for wear. Bike is fine, too. Was going pretty slow by the time I flopped down. Didn't hit my head. No loss of consciousness. Hardly any pain.

It was a nice day, and despite the fall, I had a nice ride.

Comments: Around Triadelphia. Used to do this often on Sunday mornings. That was before I hit the deer. Howard County roads are much better maintained than Montgomery County. Saw the eye doctor yesterday. Afterwards, I was still dazzled by the dilating drops, so I skipped, so I felt it was OK to double up today. My longest ride this year. Had a pretty good pace -- just a hair over 14.

Skipped yesterday because of a (false) rain forecast, so I doubled up today.

Raleigh Hybrid ticked over 30,000 today. And the true distance has to be a lot more than that, because I had the bike for two years before putting on an odometer. I've certainly gotten my money's worth out of this bike.
