Hi BikeLady! I agree with you that trainer ride definitely count! I've only put about 100 miles on my outdoor bike this year. The weather in Ohio is no better than Michigan, I know. I see you're 27th overall. That's great. I've ridden every day this year and I'm having trouble keeping up with you. Keep up the good work!

Bike Lady: You are tough. Stop making me work so hard, trying to stay up with you.
Thanks for your comments to my post. You have some excellent suggestions there. Also, congrats on the miles this year.

I also agree that trainer miles count. I just started biking in the spring of 2007 at the age of 51. I slowly have built up to about 16 miles per ride. For Christmas I bought myself a trainer and will slowly but surely add to my bike miles.
PS - I am from Michigan also

I would agree that trainer miles should count if only I would use one. Just kidding. Not really. Okay, they count.

I don’t know you, just watching your miles because you’re from Utah and I’m in southern Utah. We need to get some more miles on your bike so you can move up the bike journal standing, just kidding I like competition from Utah. Right now I’m chasing a friend from Alaska. Be safe and may the winds be at your back.

History:
I started riding seriously in 1996 after a very pregnant coworker told me I looked fat! My only goal the first year was to make the 15 mile round trip on the local rail trail once before the summer was over. I ended up riding 1100 miles that year and have steadily increased ever since. I'm not fast, but I can keep going forever. I now own three bikes and do all errands within 10-15 miles of home by bicycle. Having always been the non-athletic one in my family, I get a charge out of being the one who is in the best physical shape.
