Used to be fast. Rode Markleeville Death ride in 2006 on my Specialized S-works (129 miles, 5 passes, 15,000 feet of climbing over five mountain passes. I did not get passed descending.) and the 2007 Triple Bypass (123 miles, 3 passes, 10,000 feet of climbing at higher elevation than Markleeville) in Evergreen, CO with my (non BJ riding partner, Blake). I have no goals for 2008, but to stay in shape and hopefully be a kidney donor for my ex-sister-in-law.

Been riding since I won a 10 speed on a radio call-in contest. Started racing after I found that riding helped reduce the pain in my left hip, which I had broken in a car accident. The more it hurt, the more I would ride to mitigate the pain. I won two USCF State TT Championships. Raced some really great competitors in Kansas and otherwise. Graduated, got a job, family, kids, and no time to ride - for about a decade-and-a-half - though did minor miles commuting and on errands. Recently, I've made more time for riding and been fairly consistent for about three years now. (Many, many, thanks to my riding buddies Blake and Brandon). I have found out how much you loose when you do not use. I am now slow. And thought I'd get a trike to see if that was faster and helped with the continuing hip issue. Someday, I expect that I'll get a prosthesis. Last time I checked with Dr, they (had second opinion) said you're too young, keep riding, keep excess weight off, etc.

I like to have fun with my bikes as well.

A bet better for TT's than for crits or Road racing, but that was what I liked best. I went to a team time trial in Winfield in about oh, 1985, and raced as a solo cyclists against 5 teams in a 50 mile time trial. The spirit of Eddy lives in his frames. We won. By five or six minutes.

Loaned it to Brandon and Kathie, and Kathie rode it in 2008 BAK (Bike Across Kansas) and she made it all the way! woo hoo. You go, girl!
