This afternoon I took the truck to Hudson Street and rode the Trail from there. I started up the Trail, but turned back at Willard Street and rode south to Linky Stone Park. There I turned back north. After about 5 miles I realized that I was underdressed for the ride. It isn't unusual to be chilly when you start off but after 5 miles you should equalize your temperature. I was 5 miles out and getting cold. I had riding shorts on bottom and tights with a riding shirt on top. I must have needed tights on my legs. I was going to ride a little farther, but decided that I was cold enough once I had reached Furman. I turned back south and got into a catch and pass situation with two other riders. I really don't care to ride like that with people that I don't know. I slowly came up behind them and the rear guy started waving me around. I was only riding slightly faster than they were so passing was a little iffy. He kept waving me around in blind turns and I finally made the pass. When I started the pass a group came around the corner at us, so I stood up and really blew by them. But about a mile later they were on my tail, then I left them and they caught me again about a mile later. I don't like riding where we keep catching each other so I sped up and went in at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe. They turned in behind me., but I went inside and had a slice of bourbon pecan pie and a cup of hot chocolate. After that I rode back to the truck and was satisfied with a good little ride.
