Ride Description: A short ride to check out the 47° damage to the snow. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Some of the school grounds field was somewhat rideable as long as you went straight. Trying to turn caused the front end to plow. Still, pretty fun trying. |

After yesterday's glorious 20 mile snow bike ride, today's temperature was much warmer than predicted. It was 47, so I figured the Long Prairie Trail and Stone Bridge Trails would be soft, slushy and barely ridable.
So I just went around the neighborhood to check out the damage.
There were some fun things to ride over by the school. The snow piles near the kids playground had seen enough foot traffic by the little rug rats to make them firm and rideable. And fun.
The field had less traffic and was tough to ride. I was getting enough floatation to keep moving in a straight line, but turning was tricky, as it caused the front wheel to plow and sink into the slushy wet snow.
Top Photo... 47 degrees, sunshine, and snow, equals slush.
Middle Photo... Riding thru the playground maze.
Bottom Photo... This big snow pile was actually firm enough to ride right over. It was fun.
This Mukluk is so much fun in the snow, I'm not ready for Spring weather yet.
