Today I decided to ride my bike to the Agape Center at Furman for my weekly conversational session with Mauro. I rode from the house and headed for Cleveland Park to get on the trail. I stopped at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe to possibly get some baked goods for the Valentine Party that they were going to have at the Agape Center. Once inside I saw that they had Brazilian Cheese Puffs, so I bought a half dozen to take with me. But that was after quizzing the cashier about them. I asked if they were Brazilian and she said that was the name of the recipe, but one of the cafe owners had some Brazilian heritage. My student is Brazilian and is learning English. I rode on to Furman for my session with Mauro. He decided that he didn’t want to go to the Valentine Party, but just wanted to talk and while we were eating I gave him a cheese puff and asked him if it was a Brazilian food. He told me that it is very Brazialian and that he and his wife have been looking for them. He took a bite and said "Just like home." I had one and told him to take the rest home, but he insisted that I took another. But that left one for him and one for his wife Bianca. He was very appreciative of them.
After our session, I rode around the lake at Furman, then north to Travelers Rest. I turned around across from Sunrift Outfitters and headed south. I stopped at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and bought some groceries and a chocolate cake for Cis on Valentines Day. While checking out, I saw Ken and Don H ride by going up the trail. From there I rode on home.
