Today I rode from the house to meet Don Y and Nina for Ken’s Sunday Ride. It was a real chore getting to the park fighting the wind. I was having to gear down and really worked to keep going. Ken was in Atlanta visiting his ailing sister, Don H was in Atlanta for some reason, and Steve S was celebrating his brother’s birthday. Six of us met at the zoo entrance in Cleveland Park - Don Y, Nina, 3 other older gentlemen, and me. We started out with me leading since Don wasn’t sure of the route out of the park wit all the closures. I led the group as far as Linky Stone Park, then I dropped to the back where I could sweep and keep an eye on Nina. We chugged our way up the trail and turned around across from Sunrift Outfitters. We stopped at the TreeHouse and I had a grilled chicken and peach jam panini with potato salad and a couple of glasses of water. The ride down the trail was much easier as we didn’t fight the wind the whole way.
