Today I rode from Meghan’s house (straight across the street from our place) down into Cleveland Park, but instead of going south down the trail, I turned like I normally would to go to the falls and up the trail. I quickly realized that I was going the wrong way, so I made a loop and rode a new street that isn’t on the map to get back toward the south part of the trail. I rode like I did when I was going to work, but I bypassed the USPS and went through the ICAR to get to Petco. I cleaned the cat cages and brushed and played with Tanner and Mac. Tanner has been in his cage a long time while Mac is a newcomer. Several people came by and hoped that somebody else would take get those cats. Once done there I went through REI to look at some cycling stuff and see if PJ was there. Then I went to Whole Foods and bought a bowl of colannon soup to eat there and an almond bear claw to take home for Cis and a raspberry cream cheese croissant to take home for me! I had paused the MapMyRide app on my phone, but it still added 8/10ths of a mile and 15 minutes to the ride.
I took a scenic route home for two reasons. 1) I knew that I would be short of a quarter if I didn’t add soem mileage. 2) They built a new bike path along Verdae Boulevard and I wanted to check it out. I also found a couple of roads along where I was going that I didn’t know existed. Once back in Cleveland Park I rode the new path where the stables used to be and a added an extra loop back up the F-86 and the Rudolph Anderson Memorial. From there it was the big climb home.
