Furman to Tubbs Mountain and Around to Furman
Today Furman had a double header with VMI, so I drove to Furman intending to ride then come in for the end of the first game and take in the second game. So I left Furman and headed up the trail to TR then on to the north end of the trail. There I took White Horse Extension to Tubbs Mountain and climbed over Tubbs Mountain. The descent yesterday was with heavy crosswinds that nearly dumped me several times, but today's descent was with a strong tail wind that really blew me down the mountainside. I took Tubbs Mountain back into TR then cut over to the Wal-Mart area and by the base of Paris Mountain, but I took Old Buncombe Road back into town. I wodered back by the Main Post office and took Hudson down to the trail. I turned north on the trail, but stopped by the Swamp Rabbit Cafe for a chocolate filled croissant and iced tea. Then I headed back to Furman to catch the games. I was in for the 6th inning and watched Furman drop a pair of pitching duels to VMI - 13 to 10 and 12 to 11!
