I really had to stop & think how to dress for my ride into work this morning. With the mild temps we've had the last week or so, it was just shorts & short sleeve shirt and throw on the arm warmers one or two mornings. But after it rained most of the night, and the rain has now moved out of the area, I'd have to deal w/road spray from the wet roads and the temp was around 48/50 degrees, so legs ...would definitly need to be covered up (i.e. rain pants). So do I don the rain jacket to fend off the road spray up the back and help keep me warm in the damp air? Or do I need a long-sleeve jersey? Well, I went with the short sleeves & arm warmers and it worked out just right. The roads were just damp, with some puddles that I was mostly able to avoid - no signs of road spray on the back of my jersey when I arrived at work! The temp this afternoon is expected to only reach 60; that should make for an ejoyable ride home, too.
It was a chilly 62 degrees for the ride home, with a 13 mph headwind (gusting 21). Then the rear tire went flat - found a shard of plastic in the tire, that I probably picked up from some auto accident debris on the shoulder a couple miles back. I replaced the tube and finished the trek home.
