Today I left home on the Surly and rode to Cleveland Park and Falls Park then to the Swamp Rabbit Cafe. Today 5 of us - Joe, Jeff, Laura, Nick, and I headed up the trail. Nick was struggling to keep the pace. Sometimes Laura rode with him and sometimes I rode with him. We stopped at the gazebo in TR, where Nick and Laura turned back.Jeff, Joe, and i headed on up the trail. Joe and Jeff stopped at Sunoco while I went to the end of the trail. We rode back to TR then we rode back down the trail. Sally came in behind us as we waited to cross Blue Ridge and she ride with us back to the cafe. She had to leave, Nick and Laura went to their car to go to Mac's, Jeff took his route to Mac's, while Joe and I took a more direct route to Mac's. We ate outside for Jeff. I had burnt brisket ends with a chopped salad. We talked for a good while, then Nick and Laura took their car home, Jeff rode back to his apartment, and Joe and I rode back to the cafe. From there I rode by Hampton Station and over the Hampton Avenue Bridge then took Washington to Broad Street back to Cleveland Park and the zoo.
