I left home on the Surly and headed to Cleveland Park. I climbed Cleveland to Camperdown Way up to Broad Street across downtown to Washington. I followed it around to the Hampton Avenue Bridge. I took the Orange Line to Old Buncombe Road and followed it to the Walmart and cut through the Furman Campus and looped the lake. I got on the trail and took it to the north end. I stopped at the Hot Dog stand by the Sunoco and had two weiners on a bed of slaw with mustard and onions and a helping of slaw with a bottle of water. Jay said the shop will be closed tomorrow and Saturday for family troubles. I rode straight down the trail. I stopped at the cafe for a quick drink, then again at the zoo parking lot for another drink where I removed my sun sleeves. I took Washington and climbed Hillside Drive to get home. On East North Street the car line was backed up to the gas station. That was a mess!
