I rode from home on the Trek today and met Ken, John, and Steve S at the zoo parking lot. On the way I was hooked by a pickup pulling a trailer on East North Street. He turned right across me and I had to scramble to keep from getting run over. We headed up the trail and picked up Mark at Furman. We looped around the lake at Furman but the sidewalk around the bookstore was closed. We rode to the north end then stopped at a hotdog stand in the parking lot of the Sunoco station. I had 2 beef dogs (sans buns) on coleslaw with onions and mustard and a cup of coleslaw. Plus I bought a bottle of water. We rode back down the trail but Mark turned back at Linky Stone Park to return to his car at Furman. I rode with Mark back to the Commons where I stopped to check out what is in there. I had a cup of decaf lavender latte. When I finished I heard a female call my name and Kathy was there. We talked a while and I asked about Marty (her husband) and Jae (her step-daughter). From there I rode home. Back on East North Street an oncoming car made a left-hand turn across my path and I had to brake hard to avoid getting hit or hitting her.
