Today I took off to ride up the trail, hit Tubbs Mountain, stop at Duke's, then come back down the trail. I was less than 2 miles from home and my rear brakes locked closed. I was at an intersection, so I powered through it then got off the street to check my brakes. They needed a good cleaning and a little lube, but I worked them free and continued on. About 4 miles later they locked up again. I was a little over a mile past TTR, so I turned back and ode there. The put it on the rack, cleaned the brake mechanism and cable and lubed it free of charge. They adjusted it for me and sent me on my way. I had told Cis to meet me at Duke's but since I had stopped a couple of times, turned back, and stopped at the shop I was behind schedule. So I called her and reset our time to meet. I rode on out the trail and it was relatively quiet. I got into a little traffic mess when I first got on Duncan, but it cleared and was easy riding the rest of the way. Again it was windy out there and I fought it getting to Tubbs, but it pushed me up the mountain. I was at Duke's about 15 minutes before the time I told Cis to meet me. Kristy and chatted and then Cis came in. I had a chili-cheeseburger since today was National Cheeseburger Day. I had that with chili-cheese fries and lemonade. We talked for a good time then Cis and I left for home, she drove while I rode.
