I left home on the Surly and rode to Cleveland Park then cut across town and took Washington to Hampton Station and the Orange Line to Old Buncombe Road. I followed OBR to the Lakeview spur and took it to the trail. I went up the trail, then circled the lake there. I looked like it had stormed pretty hard out there yesterday with a lot of limbs and debris and I also saw one uprooted tree.
I rode on up the trail, out to the far end, then back to the hot dog stand. I had a weiner on a bad of slaw with chili, mustard, and onion and a helping of slaw and a bottle of water. Ken was there and Steve and Tom rode by, but they stopped at Three Oaks.
We headed back down the trial, but Steve and Tom tore off on the e-bikes. Then I told Ken that I wanted to look at the tin roof community, so I turned off and pedaled through it. It's an interesting place. It looks like a village of tiny homes built on camper chassis. There are also several under construction.
From there I rode straight down the trail, but I just pooped out after climbing Hillside.
