Broke a spoke on the ride last night
Yeah just made 500 miles on the Dahon! And as I suspected at the outset, I wouldn't get 1000 miles on that back wheel. For sure a poor lacing strategy for what is supposed to be a rugged sort of bike. That rear wheel has a dual lace pattern: 14 spoke Radial pattern on the non-drive side, and a 14 spoke 1x cross on the drive side. Can't support a 230 pound rider under normal conditions... Shopping now for a HD wheel with at least 32 spokes....

Missed the storm activity on the ride today. The storm cell blowing through included hail and several reports of tornadoes touching down within 8 miles of home.

Why not just have that wheel relaced?

Bruce, Good suggestion! I'll price it out both ways.
