 2009 GFLBT-Kueka Lake Loop
Hurray! I made the Kueka Lake ride. The knee popped a bit in the beginning then settled in for the ride and it went pretty smooth.

Because of the knee situation I had to modify plans. I had intended to ride my Cruzbike on this ride, but the moving bottom bracket puts a bit too much stress on my Fibula. Driving an extra 200 miles this weekend to take part in a substantial portion of the GFLBT event was worth the extra effort and expense. It took 400 miles of motor vehicle driving, in order to cycle 78 of the 90 miles combined on 3 bikes, from Friday to now. 400 miles fueled by 23 gallons of Gasoline. It was an absolute necessity for the therapeutic benefit of biking with such nice people.

Additionally I would surely have gained weight if I had stayed at camp for the weekend, but coming home kept the caloric intake under the watchful eyes of Ginny. And yes, the knee is getting stronger!

It was great to ride with Maggie, Michele(Handyhanah), Larry her husband, Cher, and Drut. They are some of the Bikejournal greats along with Karcod, Carpenterdoug, Bruce and many others. The Canadian Sisters Karen and Cathy were back. I missed hearing about their Saturday antics.

Two years ago, the 2007 Bikejournal reunion piggybacked on this great Finger Lakes Bike Tour. I am grateful for that initial introduction to an event that has helped solidify my commitment to cycling.

Hi John!

It was great riding with you and the others around Keuka Lake Sunday. Thanks again for help with the flat. It certainly was a nice ride. I'm happy to have met you there. Keep up the re-hab on the knee.

With any luck we'll be able to return next year.

Did is here for a day or two. We are riding along a portion of the east coast of Lake Champlain today and will hit the Adirondacks tomorrow.

Hi Dave, it was great riding with you and getting your perspective on organic gardening too! Hope you have a great Summer on bike! Looking forward to next year's GFLBT...
