Most likely the last 100+km ride for me this year! A great day for a towpath excursion; Rendezvoused at mile 14 with BruceW., between Lyell Ave and the 490 overpass. It's always a good ride with Bruce. He has an easy going optimistic perspective worth paying attention to.
It was a fairly busy day on the towpath. Families, couples, and others were out partaking the joys of life with fresh air and exercise. Just outside the Village of Pittsford is a locally famous Moose which Bruce showed me. (see photo of "Bruce and the Moose"). We stopped for lunch at the Coal Tower Restaurant. Then pedaled on to Fairport and RVE Bike Shop where I purchased a couple of reflective pant leg straps. At mile 49, back at GVP Bruce headed home, I stopped for refueling (Banana Apple, Granola bars & water).
About 18 miles into the journey I discovered that I had lost a pant leg strap. I bought a couple more at the bike store, but upon retracing my route I recovered the "lost" strap which had come loose at a brief stop at mile 12 of the trip...

John,
It seems we were both losing clothing along that section of the Canalway. Good thing it wasn't any colder!
I got in my 50, BTW.
Nice ride. Let's do it again next year.
