A great ride! I left home at 9:30, arrived at Basil Marella park at 10:15, no one from the tour was around.

I headed to Charlotte where a group of relaxed riders were breaking. I rode with most of these folk as a group last year, so it was a reunion of sorts sans my Cruzbike. I did not stop at the "Dinosaur", but went on to GVP where I took a snack break. Met a guy there who lives near Larson and we chatted a bit about Fred's "legendary Renaissance characteristic know-how".

The Westward portions of the ride were substantially slower due to a steady Westerly breeze. I did a "Victory Cadence Loop" starting on a section of towpath west of Adams Basin to Gallup Road then North to O-P. T. L. Road , then Hinkleyville Road, and arrived home at 3 pm.

I found that my Hybrid was under-matched by most of the recumbents with the exception of the Bacchetta's. Perhaps it was less to do with equipment and more to do with the rider conditioning. In any regard it was an easy ride for me, even considering my knee joint situation. That of which seems to be mending nicely...

Hey John I guess I missed you on this ride! I was with a group that did the Irondequoit loop so we were behind the main group. Excellent ride though, really great route and as always very cool group of riders!

Chipg5, It sure was a great day for a ride in Rochester! The R2k Rally is a very relaxed ride, with some great enthusiasts to share the way. This was my third year (but without my recumbent). This year Harborfest in Charlotte and Taste of Rochester downtown made the ride and even more memorable event. This had to be one of the best weekends to be in Rochester!
