The New Year ride was abbreviated due to rain. Was good going the first five miles then came the rain with a hint of gropple. Expecting it to blow over, I stayed the course for another 3/4 miles. Then with an increasingly steady rain -decided to turn and head back.
Earlier Ginny and I did a New Years Day walk down to the Canal and back(3 miles). We averaged 4 mph on the walk. Remembering too many years previous, where walking merely a fraction of that distance was just not doable -owing to Knee, back, and sciatic aches.
Looking back, thinking about the time before having the Knee replacements in Nov.2010 and Feb 2011. It seems as if the distant memory of an old man fading before his time couldn't have been me! 20 years of aging and pain gone now, as if awakening from a disturbing dream. It is great to be whole again.
