I have a start on my "consecutive" streak. I'm ahead of schedule with work commutes -the best way to get road conditioning! All thanks to decent weather this past week!
Reflecting a bit on the past year -it went quick. Looking back now on another year of aging. Another year of exceptional mileage(for me). Though I was slower this year past, I was able to ride through some severe knee issues in June and December. Truthfully, The knee joints have troubled me more over the year past than previously. My weight continues to be a major detrimental factor. I have not been able to find a way to maintain a reduced caloric intake -definitely been a sore spot with my cycling.
I'm looking forward to turning 56 years old this Sunday. Lately I feel a bit more in control of my vitality and health. I am going to bed earlier and sleeping longer. The knees feel relatively O.K. Other joints (back, wrists elbows,shoulders, neck...)make themselves known from time to time. I'm not smoking. I'm trying to get my weight under 200 pounds. I hope to accomplish the weight loss with more cycling particularly work commutes. I have upgrade/refurbishment plans for 2 of my bikes...And I plan to bike more with greater effort this year!
