 a Spin on the Recumbent
Pedaling a recumbent puts a different stress on the knees. Particularly a front wheel drive recumbent with a moving bottom bracket(MBB).

Riding a Recumbent with a ShortWheelBase (SWB), FrontWheelDrive(FWD), and a MBB has advantages which out-distance any imagined drawbacks.

You are using different muscle combinations to pedal a recumbent. The pedaling action is more oriented parallel to the road rather than perpendicular. In other words you can't stand to pedal. Gravity does add an aspect of stress on weak knees as does maneuvering (tight turns) at low speeds. Of course there is no pressure on the perineum region. No carpal tunnel, wrist, elbow, or shoulder pain issues.

Anyway, there was a bit too much pressure on the knee joints with todays ride, so I cut it short.
