Another day with no Bikejournal is really a drag! I'm suffering a bit of withdrawal.
Information on the BJ home page can be summarized by these excerpts:
There was an "automated attack" on the BJ database. "Many records were overwritten with a malicious URL (website address). ...some of the text data truncated by the attack is not recoverable." -Slantz;
And so according to Slantz, there is "irretrievably lost" data from the Blog pages. Having used the Blog feature extensively, writing many thoughts, descriptions, ideas, philosophy, and self-analysis, now facing the prospect of irretrievably lost data, is a bit frustrating! Having not "backed-up" most of those entries myself, makes me feel kind of numb/dumb for the lack of effort on my part. Disappointing!
Stats summary through November 8th 2008:
Total miles for the week: 145.97 -not too bad;
YTD mileage: 5761.06 in 312 days=18.5 miles per day;
135 CCC days
~commuter miles YTD: 2879.84+/-
Total work commutes through this ride:
~151 round trip work commutes since January 2008;
151 consecutive cycling days with miles of "road smiles" along the way!
IF I can average 10 miles a day until year end... 53 days left in 2008 @ 10 miles per day=
it is possible to make 10,000 Kilometers for the year!
