Today 6 of us met at the entrance to the zoo - Ken, Steve S, Sarah, Keith, John (a new guy), and me. We headed up the trail and picked up Don Y and Lynda at Linky Stone Park. The trail was very crowded through the parks and as far as the Cafe. Then it settled down some. The group stayed together today until some of them stopped to look for turtles at the lake. We rode on to Travelers Rest and turned around across from the creperie. At the Treehouse I had a fruit cup and bought a couple of chocolate chip cookies for Cissi. I drink a pair of 12 ounce glasses of water and had my fruit then decided to head back down the trail on my own. I cut through the Furman campus from the north end as a section of trail was thick in red mud. They have been trenching along the trail to kill roots that are breaking up the trail before they repave it and the 2 1/2 inches of rain yesterday washed a lot of mud onto the trail along the campus. So I took an alternate route through the campus≥. I scooted on down the trail - I saw Kimberly riding with someone. I said Hello to Kimberly and the other rider spoke to me, but I don’t know who it was. I looped the old dog park on my way to the truck.
