After clearing the driveway, I took a quick spin around the neighborhood.
Clearing the driveway meant first hooking up the snow throwing attachment to the Sears lawn tractor.
The hardest part of the installation this year, was installing the tire chains. In past years, setting up the snow thrower meant converting the tractor from lawn cutting. Instead this year I used a different tractor(J.D. X300R) for lawn cutting.
The X300R is a dedicated rear bagging lawn tractor and is not designed for snow throwing. The "point" for purchasing the J.D. Tractor was to have two tractors, one for lawn duty and one (the old Sears Craftsman) for everything else including clearing the driveway. The new setup makes for an easy changeover for snow removal.
