ride days YTD: 35 consecutive cycling days (includes 11 indoor ride days); 347.7 outdoor miles ...my best start!
Twelve days in, only 5 work commutes in the past 10 work days. The main obstacle has been the weather. Doing a 16+ mile commute on snow slicked roads by bike is always a "no-go" for me. What with 15 ton snow plow equipment rumbling along the road ways. Then there is the blinding wind whipped "white-out" conditions to contend with traversing the open road. I've managed nicely in a 4 wheel drive motor vehicle when not on my bike. Growing impatient for better weather...
Among Bikejournal commuters In New York State, I have logged 50.4 more commuter miles than the next closest NY commuter. I have the longest commute of the four of us. My fellow NY commuters are Stalwarts in their own right, especially BruceW, a dedicated "car-free" cyclist.
