 an "On-Bus" Behavior grading system
During my convalescence I had some work related ideas which I tried to flesh-out, writing a description:

Talking about this idea for an on bus "behavior grade" as an incentive for students to improve their bus behavior opens my eyes to the impact words can have. Fred Paye expressed the idea that a non-negative grading system would be more appropriate than a system that listed the students who have poor on bus behaviors. In order to not discourage or raise any negative issues with parents, I completely agree with that thought.

To reiterate:
The purpose of an on bus behavior evaluation is to provide positive reinforcement in the form of recognition and praise for modeling good behaviors on bus.

The evaluation could be posted for students to see and do a self-comparison. Evolving the thought into a tool to motivate positive behaviors would be to post the evaluations of individuals which Exceed Expectations with their on bus behavior. The on bus report in itself could be its own motivation/reward. Though additional incentives/rewards could be offered like "certificates of accomplishment" (I don't want to get too fancy here).

I'm basically exploring this as an idea that could hopefully make students more aware of their on bus behavior and as an incentive to see them improve their bus behaviors and to mature socially.

The grading system would be a simple characterization of behavior stated as E/E (exceeds expectations), or M/E (meets expectations), B/E (below expectations).

Agreeing with Fred, that any negative evaluations could be problematic and non-motivating. In order to be totally positive and non-problematic, only an "E/E report" would be posted on bus.
