I discussed with John Z. the edema and swelling as well as the localized throbbing/burning sensation. Treatment consisted of a calf and thigh message and localized ultra-sonic treatment. Immediately afterward the flexion measured an increase of 6 degree to 106 degrees.
More of this treatment is anticipated to improve my flexion capacity as well as to reduce pain and swelling. No issues with the Left knee.

Recapping some aspects of the 2 TKR's: During the Surgical procedure no epidural was used. The anesthesiologist did use a nerve blocking injection into the thighs, then Propofol was used as the General anesthetic.
The surgical effort for the Left knee was almost 2 hours. The Right knee took only a bit over 1 hour. Doc Niles said he removed a lot of junk from around the Left knee. The Left leg gave me the most nerve pain during recovery and rehab. Swelling and Edema seem to have been more of an issue with the Right leg.
The PT is a lot of mind game for sure. They try to torture you, and you bite your lip pretending it's hardly unbearable. And truthfully it is bearable. And the benefit is measurable with every session.
