 Filling the Canal and grooming the Towpath
On Monday I hardly noticed on the ride the canal water level was starting to rise...
By Tuesday the water seemed within 4 feet of full.
Wednesday: 2 feet;
Thursday: 1 foot;
The water is flowing from the Genesee, verifiable via the flotsam flow direction... That is an East to West flow. During the boating season, normal flow direction on the Canal, West of the Genesee is West to East. By my recollection, normally the canal is not filled this early! Seeing it filled is a welcome sign.

Additionally, last week there were detectable signs that the towpath had been re-groomed with some type of drag device. It made the path a lot smoother. Yet the towpath could stand at least another pass...

-on a side note:
My Doctor K(im) Peterson, forwarded my blood test results this week. Ginny had been bugging me to contact the medical office about recieving the data. Tuesday it magically arrived without my calling...
Attached to the test results was a hand written note from Peterson:
"John, Labs look great. Red blood cells are small because of your Thalessemia. Otherwise you are perfect! -KP".

Can't do anything about that "Thalassemia trait". But it is a potential crutch to explain away cycling performance stamina issues...
