My participation again this year was to honor the memory of Jerry Vogt as well as Lee Bausch.
The Ride of Silence is an international ride conducted every year on the the third Wednesday in May at 7PM. The R.o.S. honors those who have been injured or killed riding a bike.
My third year for participation in the R.o.S. -started wet then cleared; Rain on the way to the start of the ride cleared up rapidly, but not before giving Bob and I a good soak.
The diverse group was well chaperoned and guided along the route by the Rochester Police. I rode along side Bob Davis like previous years. If there is any criticism with the manner in which the ride was conducted it must be about the pace, -WAY TOO SLOW!! Most of the ride speed averaged well below 7 mph! Travelling the 8.8 mile route was a 1 hour and 15 minute excursion.
