a short ride -typical of late;
Moving another ton of wood from the collapsed hillside Box elder tree does not leave much time for biking.
Additionally, The Fig trees in the "Gro-shed" needed pruning. The gro-shed needed a good clean out. I trimmed the Miniature roses and cut a bouquet for Ginny. I'll be planting the Cucumber seedling in there soon... The yard work is proceeding!
I need to repair the clothes line setup (damaged by the Box elder last weekend).
Need more hours to attend to bike repair/modifications/maintenance work!
A Schrader-vs-Presta observation:
I want to drill out the wheel valve stem holes on some wheels for my Dahon Cadenza in order to accommodate Schrader valves.
Schrader valves are more durable -of course! Additionally, It's easier to install a "leak stop goop in Schrader tubes.
In consideration:
Removable core Presta valve tubes cost more and are rare to find. Presta valve stems are less durable than Schrader Schrader valves can accommodate inserting "leak stop goop" easier Schrader tubes are more available for the 26 inch wheel.
Overall, Schrader valve tubes are more cost effective for commuter biking...
