Today was by Far my Fastest average speed on a work commute. I am Happy with this accomplishment. Making it back to the Ridge on the way home from Hilton usually requires 45 minutes of a typical 82 minute round trip. And then it's another 1.7 miles of headwinds going West from Trimmer Road. Today I made it to the Ridge in 59:40 minutes.
Clearly I am getting a bit faster with these knees. All of my previous 70 minutes or less round trip work commutes, have been doing a more wind friendly, and shorter distance. The "std commute" route South on C-P.T.L.Rd. has wind breaks and is a mile shorter.
The route home today: Hill, P.Ctr., Spencer, Peck, and Trimmmer roads, is longer but prefered for the road variation and for having less motor vehicle traffic.
So this was my fastest ever commute to and from Hilton on a relatively still day. Don't misunderstand, there was wind today. I felt every 5 mph Westerly gust!
