 the Tri-Athlete
That's Patti P., the "Town Line Tri-Athlete". Mid 40's mother of 4, running, swimming, and biking her way along. She pedals a very fine "S-Works" Specialized bike. Her cassette looked brand spanking new today. I didn't have enough reserve(breath) to talk a whole lot, or I would have asked her about the bike. She is a close friend and associate with Tammy, another Hilton Bus Driver.

She had been Eastbound on the Ridge, I was heading West. We were both headed for a turn Northbound on Clarckson Parma Town Line Road. She Made the turn just ahead of me and took off on the slight downhill grade at a pretty good speed. A half mile down I caught up and startled her a bit as I passed.

We have ridden together on a couple of sections of local roads previously, always by chance, while she is on a training ride and I on my commute. She averages 17-20 mph in the Northeasterly direction on Town Line Road. She lamented about the headwinds first, I seconded the complaint. She drafted me for approximately 2.5 miles. I was going a little beyond my comfort zone but kept at it, inspired somewhat. Then came the climb out of the ravine and she dusted me, never looking back!
