I have been duly ribbed for acquiring an electric bike. Let's get one fact straight here. I did not go electric to stop pedaling! I went electric to go faster.
After two rides the my 58 pound Zurich 350 IX bike, there is much effort necessary to propel it down the road a 20 mph average speed. Substantial effort and greater speed, that is exactly what I expected! My thoughts to this point are that I made a smart buy for work commutes, and for rides where my wife can use it to do rides with me, while I try to keep up with a non-electric bike.
Today's commute was a little bit faster at 19.11 mph average, and I used less battery energy. 14.5 "bike commute" days YTD total commuter miles YTD: 248.35 +/-
