  200 mile week and a knee sprain
Sprained my knee(mildly) getting up to go to the bathroom last night. Fact is these past few days have been a bit trying for the knees. First, there was Sunday's RBC Tour -a fantastic ride! Then Thursday, was the Semi-annual Physical Performance test for Bus driver re-certification. Finally yesterday was my first ride on the Cruzbike in quite some time and I may have overdone that effort. Today, with a brace wrapped around my Left(good/strong) Knee, I endeavored to reach my first 200 mile week. I only needed 18 miles...
~the route:Hinkleyville->O-P.T.L.->Gallup->Gordon->Towpath @Sweden Walker->Fayette St-Brockport->T/A->Towpath->Gordon->Gallup->Canal/Towpath->UnionSt/rte259-Spencerport->Amity St->EvergreenSt.->WestAve->Lyell->WashigtonSt->Towpath/Canal->T/A->Canal->WashingtonSt/Hinkleyville->Home;

Getting on the Canal West bound at Sweden Walker Road, I had intended to turn at Sweden Walker Raod and go East on the towpath through Spencerport. But some younger middle aged guy came racing by and I took off after him. He turned his head back as if to see if he could let-up on his pace and there I was bearing down. He stood and pounded the pedals but it was too late, I had the momentum and passed him with a wave... Farther down the path I noticed him in my rear view mirror, he was catching up. So I hammered on through to Fayette Street in Brockport and was resting when he caught up.

At the towpath and Fayette Street I met a 49 Y/O fellow named Chris, resting by an ATB. We struck-up a conversation about cycling and the weather. Then I headed East with the idea of going to Spencerport and then home so I could get the mileage over 200 for the week.

I got off the Towpath at Gordon Road and followed the canal through Adams basin. I noticed up on the Towpath was a guy motivating along fairly quickly. Turns out it was that Chris fellow. I joined up with him on the towpath and we rode in to Spencerport sharing pleasantries and perspective. He double backed with me via WestAve/Lyell Road to Adams basin there we started back to Spencerport but I turned off about a half mile east of Adams Basin. Chris rode back to Spencerport.

Chris seemed like a good guy -a relaxed and competent rider. We'll be on the look-out for future rides.
