It seems as if I'm making headway with this knee situation. Hour by hour I have become more and more hopeful of regaining enough mobility to be able to participate in this weekend's activities...
Today I used mega doses of aspirin throughout the day. I removed the knee brace on the bike ride home this afternoon. I have developed a blister from wearing the brace. The knee felt so much better on the bike ride home and the swelling immediately began to subside.
There is considerable, longterm, limitation with regard to the function in both knees. That's been the diagnosis and actual fact for a decade.
Old story: I was told by an Orthopedist in 1999 that my right knee was the shocking equivalent condition and function to the knee of an 85 year old. I was 45 years old at the time and not ready to embrace the concept of a total knee replacement.

Stronger of the two but there is a significant weakness with the left knee. Where the Fibula, joins with the Tibia and is connected to the Femur, I am experiencing excruciating discomfort with any incautious step.
The Fibula is joined to the Femur with lateral collateral ligament (LCL), a weakness there at the left knee is causing the Fibula to pop-out and dislocate. That's the immediate problem occurring at this time...
