Gary and me, future Beer Barons, are collaborating on a project to make beer.

A brewing endeavor is something avid guzzlers might attempt in the hope of saving on the costs of high consumption. However, set-up costs for brewing a basic quality batch of beer (6 gallons of brew) can be pricey($100+). I purchased a Micro Brewery kit plus an additional ingredients kit, both Coopers Brewery products. Coopers is an Australian independent family owned Brewery.

The initial micro brew kit comes with all the basics including Lager beer ingredients, and 30-22oz P.E.T. bottles. I added an I.P.A. ingredients kit. So there will be supplies enough to make two distinctly different 6 gallon batches of brew. Thinking that P.E.T. containers may be inferior to glass for preserving the quality of the beverage, Gary has procured a supply of 12oz. glass bottles, caps, a capper, and "The Complete Joy of Home Brewing 3rd Edition" -the homebrewers bible. Our combined start-up expense for the first 12 gallons of beer are about $187 ($1.46/12oz bottle). Prost! Prosit! Salute! ˇSalud! Cheers!...
