While on the towpath I passed a family whose 2 daughters(Olivia&Macy) rode my bus last year. The girls were riding tiny bikes with their parents following behind walking.
Initially my recognition and recollection was incomplete, as I first passed the parents and saw a note of familiarity. Approaching to pass the girls, I recognized them but couldn't remember their names. I feel embarrassed about my lack of name recollection. Passing the girls, I called out "Big John says hi"! I did not stop.
Macy is going into 2nd grade and Olivia will be entering 3rd grade. The girls seemed so tiny and they were riding such small bikes...
I've noticed a phenomenon over the years with the children who ride my bus. They look so much bigger when they are on the bus than when I see them elsewhere.
