 Staying Close to Home
Early to the Post office in Spencerport, and back before the window contractor arrived. I need a longer ride but I need to be home for the Window guys. Right Knee was a bit stiff but gradually loosened up.

After the ride I spent the entire day doing yard work, exterior house cleaning, and some gardening. Had a good Pepper harvest today -a bit premature. But tomorrow's Window job will be removing a Picture Window and two adjacent Double hung windows, replacing them with a Bay Window. And the Pepper patch under the Den Picture Window was in the way and so needed harvesting.

Getting all 24 windows upgraded included the Kitchen Slider, the 4 pane Bow in the Kitchen, and the Den getting the Bay window tomorrow. The window replacements are turning into a 4 day job. Jim had 2 guys working today. Friday and Monday Jim had 3 co-workers. 75 year old Jim is a good supervisor and clean-up man, -besides being a top notch Sales Rep. Today Jim and two remodelers converted the double hung kitchen windows into a beautiful 4 pane Bay Window.

Initially Ginny didn't think we would be able to afford the whole house window replacements. I said let's price it out and decide -thinking positive is my natural perspective. Ginny's scepticism compliments my optimism perfectly. The fist quote we received was from Anderson Renewal, -and their price was out there. Way out there at $34,000.00! But we got a hold of a quality guy named Jim McCann. Jim's "Window Source of Rochester" was not only priced right, the Sunrise manufactured windows are top quality too. My vision of Bay Windows for the Kitchen and Den seemed likely too pricey. I was looking to go beyond the category of "Replacement" right to the Remodel category., Finding Jim and Sunrise proved to be great for elevating a dream to reality.

The cost of quality whole house replacement windows is pricey. There are many manufacturers out there. And quality varies at a given price point. I had to do a little bit of research to satisfy myself on the Sunrise Manufacturers quality. Sunrise reviews were great and the initial meeting with Jim was a pleasant contrast to some other replacement window sales reps.

What all that has to do with biking is that I have been too busy at home and have to struggle to reach my mileage goals.
